Today was the third day of jury selection for Dale Warner’s trial. Dale is charged with open murder and tampering with evidence in the death of his wife Dee Ann Warner.

Dee disappeared from her Tecumseh, Michigan farm April 25, 2021. The night before, she had planned to tell Dale she wanted a divorce. Dale claimed to have found Dee’s large diamond wedding ring on his desk – which he claimed was a sure sign she left him.

Very early on, Dee’s family and friends didn’t believe his theory and weren’t afraid to be vocal.

Exactly six months after Dee went missing, her friend started the Justice for Dee page. It started small but quickly gained traction. Today, it boasts over 23,000 members who are referred to as “warriors.”

The Justice for Dee group became a powerhouse, making a strong showing at rallies and vigils. Their commitment to fighting for justice helped Dee’s family get the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office to turn the case over to the Michigan State Police which had more experience, more manpower, and more resources.

Warriors from around the world have showered Dee's family and loved ones with an outpouring of love and support.

During Dale’s preliminary trial, his defense attorney, Mary Chartier, asked several witnesses if they were members of Justice for Dee, if they had attended any vigils or rallies, and if they had a Justice for Dee yard sign.

Now, during jury selection, potential jurors are eliminated if they are members of Justice for Dee. In one instance, it wasn't enough to find out a man wasn't a member, he was then asked if he knew anyone that was a member.

Several times, people said they didn’t think they were a member and then Ms. Chartier’s paralegal would take a screenshot to show them they were, indeed, a member. One woman looked at the screenshot, and although the name matched, it wasn’t her.

One of the Justice for Dee admins, Kathryn Adams, was in court today and together with Dee’s family made a decision around noon. She posted the following statement on the Justice for Dee Facebook page:

As this trial moves forward, we will be stepping back from posting for the remainder of the proceedings. This decision comes from a place of deep respect for Dee, her family, and the integrity of the justice process. Many of the admins in this group are sequestered witnesses, and protecting the truth and fairness of this case matters more than anything.
This is not silence out of weakness – it is silence out of strength, love, and responsibility.
We ask you to please continue to lift Dee up in your prayers, along with her children, her family, and everyone who loved her. Pray for clarity. Pray for courage. Pray for justice.
“There is a time to be silent and a time to speak.” – Ecclesiastes 3:7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6-7
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. The support, compassion, and unwavering belief in Dee have carried us through the darkest days. You have kept her name alive. You have reminded the world who she was and why she mattered.
While we will not be posting updates here during the trial, I will continue to work directly with the media to help ensure information shared publicly is correct and accurate.
If you wish to stay informed during the trial, please follow the media outlets we shared yesterday, as they will be providing updates as allowed by the court.
Justice for Dee – now and always.

The trial is expected to begin February 10, 2026, and last 9 weeks.
